簡逸凱 JIAN YI KAI

TAIWAN


The performance is based on clay and mud which are the main materials. Pitaya builds layers of mud and mess on his body, representing the realizations of desire and dark side of human nature.  This isn’t who he meant to be, he has to go behind his face. The mud is covered and erased repeatedly to indicate a series of rebuild of a person’s identity and character.  In the performance, all behavior is in a trance state. he wants viewers to go beyond consciousness and realize the relationship between the “street” and themselves.

表演|

以泥與土為主要物件,佐以有機扭曲的行為,連結表演者與場景之間,試圖將表演的場域”道”引申為複雜混亂的思緒,在其中釋放身體動能和無以名狀的覺知,將醜惡的人性具象化,顯示肉慾的掙扎與迂腐。過程中將不斷覆蓋又抹去泥土與象徵汙穢的種種,重新型塑其身份與角色面貌。透過儀式性的演出,讓表演者與觀者解構再建構內在的靈肉感知,亦或是外在的體制道德。

本表演致敬藝術家 Sagazan,延續其工作坊課程精神。

JIAN YI KAI (Pitaya) who founded Pitaya.X since 2014 is an illustrator and artist born in 1992. Artworks are uniting the aesthetics of darkness and the sensual complexity. While painting, he is an unconscious entity, a medium through which the living and spirit world can communicate. Searching for an original form like rituals links to universe and other elements.
